Welcome to Chipmunks at LVC (Lea Valley Church).
Chipmunks is a baby and toddler group that we fully intend will be safe, fun, encouraging group for you and your child to be part of. Chipmunks is an LVC church based group run by our own volunteers. We hope you will meet and make new friends at chipmunks and we will do all we can to facilitate a happy and comfy atmosphere from which to do so. We welcome all new comers to the group which will run from 10.00am to 11.30am every Monday (except Bank Holidays and school holidays). Please note that we run to the school calender of Leverton Primary school. We will meet in the church hall (entry is directly off the car park) and buggies can be left in the foyer area or lined up inside the hall. Registration and sign in will take place directly inside the main hall doors and the entry fee is £1.50 per adult. We welcome grand parents to our group - just be sure please that every adult attending pays at the reception. We ask parents to make sure they sign themselves and their child/ren in and out each morning. This ensures accurate register information in the event of an emergency evacuation. Please be assured that no third party is handed your registration information sand we will expect you to update us if your contact numbers or details change. We have fun on our Monday Chipmunk mornings which have a variety of craft, story time and a rousing sing along. Delicious cakes and hot drinks for the adults are the basis of our grown up refreshments and are available throughout the morning. We would ask parents not to give these to the children as they have their own refreshemnts immediately prior to the story. The session draws to a close after the sing a long and there will be a final prayer and blessing before we depart. On a matter of health and safety, we would remind you that you are responsible for the child/ children in your care and would ask you to watch and supervise them at all times. Our policy is that we will not tolerate violence or bullying behaviour among the children or the adults. Our Chipmunk hostess is Jennie Stevens and she is available to help with any problems that may occur on the day while overall responsibility for the morning falls to us as pastors of LVC. Safety for you and your child are paramount to us, and we would therefore ask you to support us in our policies which are for the health and well being of the whole group. During the morning, activities are limited to the hall and no access is permitted to the main church building. Food and drink are the only to be consumed within the hall areas, please under no circumstances are children allowed up the stairs or into the kitchen. As the toilets are at the end of the corridor past the kitchen, it is vital that parents supervise their own child's toilet needs. In this way, we will be able to work together to fully safeguard our Chipmunk children on Monday mornings. A nappy changing table is located in the ladies toilet and we would ask that parents take home all wet/ soiled nappies as we have no removal or disposal facilities. Please do not place them in the sanitary disposal unit or in the paper towel bin under the wash basin. We hope you will enjoy our LVC Chipmunk morning - it is our pleasure to serve you.
